The Magic Of India
Nov 12th, 2008 | By admin | Category: Events, Food & Restaurants, Noosa Restaurant ReviewThe Magic Of India on Thomas Street, Noosaville is somewhat of an institution. If copying is the sincerest form of flattery, the other cafes/restaurants that serve Indian food on Thoms Street only survive as the “Magic” turns custom away most nights. Winner of several “Best” awards, this friendly business takes some beating. Tip from the top - the Chicken Tikka Masala is sensational!

Magic of India was established in Noosaville, in the resort town of Noosa, in December 1994. It has ‘Noosa-style’ inside-outside seating arrangement and enjoys a well established discerning local clientele, business people and tourists. All the Chefs at Magic of India have considerable 5 star hotel experience from India and are expert at preparing traditional & authentic Curries and Tandoori dishes. It encourages us and our team to see that our food is appreciated by our patrons. The chefs use spice mixtures to bring out flavours without actually making food chilli hot, and do not allow domination by one particular spice. Meals are cooked to perfection so that no trace of raw spice interferes with the texture or taste of the final dish. This is Indian food in all its intricacies and complexity. The element that ties all these styles of cooking together is the extensive use of herbs and spices. Indian cooks develop this knowledge of herbs and spices - how they interact with food to bring out the desired flavour - with meticulous care and passion from the day they first experience life, thus developing skills unsurpassed in the culinary world.

We ate at the dingy looking place on the corner of Thomas street tonight. I forget the name, they do “Continental Breakfasts and Indian Curries”.
We ordered the “special” - any 2 meat curries with rice and bread for $25.
Give it a miss. It was shocking!
